Please meet our Member Of The Month, Farrah!! Farrah joined our Hers Family last summer and we want to spotlight her success! Let's find out what Farrah has to say about her journey thus far..
What initially inspired you to do the challenge?
I no longer felt good in my own skin. I didn’t recognize the person in the mirror. I was taking care of 3 kids, my husband, my dad and working full-time. I lost myself somewhere and both my mental health and physical wellbeing were being negatively impacted. My Doctor told me I had to start carving out some time for myself. I generally don’t like traditional gyms. I find both the people and the equipment very intimidating. I’ve always liked watching boxing, so I thought I would check out Hers. Sharon convinced me to give it a try; she was confident that it would benefit both my mental and physical health. So I signed up. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
What were your goals and how did you track your progress?
My goal was to feel better about myself and to wear a fitted dress with confidence. I tracked my workouts through the My Accountability App. I asked the trainers for help and advice when I felt lost and started paying attention to my eating and stress levels.
What kept you motivated?
Seeing my body change and being able to release some stress has been beneficial for me. I also genuinely enjoy the classes. Every instructor is great. The vibe is perfect for what I need.
How did the challenge impact your life?
Since joining this gym, I have more energy and feel better about the way my clothes fit. I also feel stronger.
What would be your advice to new members starting the challenge?
My advice would be to keep going. We are all lost in the beginning. Left foot, right hooks, rainbow knees. It takes time to figure it out, but it will come. Ask for help, the trainers are very supportive. Yes, the classes can be hard, but go at your own pace. Just don’t give up.
What do you love most about Hers Kickboxing?
Punching Bob feels great. Instructors are great. The classes are hard but manageable.
